In present study, total phenolic content of crude extract and radical scavenging ability of ethanol crude extract and different polarity fractions from Azadirachta indica leaf were evaluated. The scavenging capacity of crude extracts were determined, using 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH), as a stable free radical and total phenolic content of the extract was determined by Folin-Ciocalteu method. The results showed that the extract and fractions with higher polarity showed stronger radical scavenging ability, with aqueous/methanol (3:1) fraction showing the highest activity. Moreover, crude extract contained high phenolic content. |
