Fluorine-containing hydrogels |

Hydrogels are cross-linked polymers that absorb many times their weight in water that exhibit good compatibility with the human body without stimulating the tissue or mucous membranes. We prepared new water-swollen hydrogels by copolymerizing 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, and fluorine-containing methacrylate with AIBN as an initiator. The cured films were transparent and showed interesting properties in terms of wettability, mechanical strength, and others. |
