제목 | The Effects of Microcapsule Content on the Properties of Acrylic Coatings |
초록 | A PCM (Phase Change Material) that absorbs or releases of heat due to its phase change at transition temperature is used in functional fabrics, sheet flooring, adiabatic materials and heat storage materials. PCM capsules using octadecane(core material) and melamine formaldehyde resin(shell material) were prepared. The PCM capsule size was varied in the range of 1~30 ㎛. The core contents and sizes of the PCM capsule were determined by DSC and SEM, respectively. An acrylic coating material which contains butyl acrylate(BA), methyl metacrylate(MMA) and acrylic acid(AA) was synthesized by emulsion polymerization. The films were prepared from the acrylic emulsion and the PCM capsules which have various capsule sizes and capsule contents. The morphologies of the film surface with the different PCM capsule sizes were investigated by SEM and AFM. The effects of the PCM capsule size and content on the tensile strength, elongation and surface roughness of the films were investigated. (a) (b) Figure 1.
