Preparation and Characterization ofCarbon Nanotube/PMMA Nanocomposites |

Carbon nanotube(CNT) can be compatibilized with PMMA by increasing the interfacial interactions between CNT and PMMA through surface modifications of CNT. Chemical modification of CNTs was carried out using HNO3 and H2SO4. In this study, the influences of the chemical modification were investigated by analyzing the CNTs before and after the modification. CNTs/PMMA nanocomposites were prepared by solvent-casting; CNTs were dispersed in DMF and then PMMA was added. Dispersions of CNTs in PMMA matrix were observed using video microscopy and scanning electron microscopy and the surface resistivities of the nanocomposites were also measured. To investigate the dispersions of CNTs in the films, the nanocomposites were plasma-etched. |
