제목 | Binary Blends of LLDPE and EMA |
초록 | Linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), which has good flexibility and processibility has been widely used in film applications. But it is well-known nonpolar polymer and hence not used where polarity is essential. To provide LLDPE with polarity, ethylene-methyl acrylate copolymer (EMA) was added to LLDPE through melt blend. EMA provides better thermal stability but possesses similar properties to EVA. It also has a good adhesive strength due to methyl acrylate (MA) group in EMA, so blends of LLDPE/EMA are expected for use as packaging and sealing applications. In this study, melt blends of LLDPE and three types of EMA were prepared in a twin screw extruder and characterized in terms of rheological properties. Effects of methyl acrylate contents in EMA of the blend have also been studied. |
