초록 | Dendrimer-based macromolecular design has advantages to develop functional nano-materials, because dendrimers provide highly regulated molecular shape and size, and arrangement of functional groups on their peripheries or in their cores. We have already synthesized sugar-persubstituted dendrimer “Sugar Balls” as a smart biomedical material1 . An amphiphilic surface-block-type sugar ball was also synthesized by the divergent/convergent joint approach2. In this lecture, syntheses and functions of new amphiphilic block dendrimers will be presented. Assemblies and cellular recognition abilities of glycopeptide-type surface-block dendrimers, twin-dendrimers having a sugar ball unit, and a comet-type macromolecule, i.e., poly(amido amine) dendrimer having several poly(N-methylglycine) linear tails on a part of the surface-block sectors, will be discussed.
