제목 Preparation and characterization of Epoxy/silane functionalized clay nanocomposites
초록 In this work, epoxy nanocomposites filled with aminosilane functionalized montmorillonite clay(MMT) have been prepared. For comparison purpose, pure MMT and commercially available nanoclay(Cloisite 30B) have also been used in preparing epoxy nanocomposites. X-ray diffraction studies of pure and functionalized clay reveal the intercalation of epoxy resin between the clay platelets. The influence of aminosilane functionalized nanoclay on the curing kinetics, mechanical properties and gas permeability studies of epoxy resin has been determined. The dispersion of nanoclay in epoxy resin matrix and its influence on thermal expansion coefficient has been also determined using thermomechanical analysis.
