As a result of the rapid development of biotechnology, demand of the artificial organs have increased gradually for the improvement of life quality and the expectation for life span. Above all, the success of the biomaterials to be implanted into body such as artificial organs is decided mainly by the biological responses to their surfaces. In this study, the albumin-incorporated calcium phosphate thin films were prepared and the biological responses to these films, such as adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation of osteoblastic cells were examined. Surface morphology was observed by SEM and the elemental composition of the films was determined by XPS. The characteristics of the crystal structure of the films were analyzed by XRD. The cellular responses to the films were characterized by using crystal violet assay and alkaline phosphatase activity. |
