For the utilization of CO2 to control Global Warming problem, the hydrogenation of CO2 was studied. Fe based catalysts have found to possess good activity in CO2 hydrogenation to hydrocarbons. The effect of supports for iron based alkali promoter catalysts also have been systematically studied. In this report, light hydrocarbon(C2-C4) production by using the reported Fe-K-La catalysts system is focussed. As a support for catalyst, Al2O3 is used. The catalysts were prepared by impregnating the support with iron nitrate followed by calcination and in-situ reduction in hydrogen. These were characterized by XRD, TPR and TPDC. The catalytic activity tests were performed at 10 atm and at around 573 K in a continuous flow fixed bed reactor system. We can prospect the reaction activity by catalyst characterization. |
