제목 Preparation of pH- and Temperature-sensitive Hydrogel Microspheres and Drug Release Properties
초록 Microspheres of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-N-butoxymethylacrylamide) (Poly(NIPAAm-co-nBMA)) and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid)(Poly(NIPAAm-co-AAc)), cross-linked with N-N'-methylene bisacrylamide (NMBA), were synthesized using precipitation polymerization. Through the differencial scanning calorimeter, dynamic light scattering, scanning electron micrescope analysis, lower critical solution temperature and the variation of diameter of the microspheres were measured. The effect of temperature and pH on the microspheres was investigated. Both poly(NIPAAm-co-nBMA) and poly(NIPAAm-co-AAc) MIS are temperature sensitive. Variations in pH were found to effect the size of poly(NIPAAm-co-AAc) which contained the ionizable groups such as carboxylic acid. The increased electrostatic repulsion of charged groups with increasing pH was the main reason. The controlled release studies were conducted for their MIS using Hymexazole, water-soluble herbicide. Release behavior was studied under various conditions, over a range of temperature and pH.
