제목 Synthesis of Nano-Structured TiO2 using Ionic Liquids as an Effective Template
초록 Nano-structured TiO2 particle has been prepared with water immiscible room temperature ionic liquid (WIRTIL) as an effective template by sol-gel method and compared with TiO2 particle prepared by conventional method. Ionic liquids (ILs) are an exceptional type of solvent possessing no vapor pressure and tunable solvent properties. A possible mechanism for the formation of this nanostructured TiO2 particle is an effective aggregation of the TiO2 particle with a self-assembled IL. Considering the special structure of IL, water molecules preferentially interact with anion on the IL strongly through hydrogen bond whereas the imidazolium rings pile up and stack by π-π interaction. It was found that the nanostructured TiO2 particle using WIRTIL had good structural characteristics including high surface area, anatase phase, controlled porosity and tailor-designed pore size distribution for several applications.
