Fabrication of Titania Nanostructures for the Application to Highly Efficient Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells |
초록 |
Highly ordered structures consisting of nanopores in titania have received considerable attention as three-dimensional photonic crystals. We made nanoporous titania for the application to an electrode of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). Here we show the process of fabricating a titania electrode with an inverse opal structure. Polystyrene (PS) colloid particles slowly crystallize on a conducting glass and form an opal template. Titanium iso-propoxide in ethanol was deposited in the colloidal opal template by precipitation through an alkoxide hydrolysis. Subsequently, the samples were heated to 450°C to form anatase TiO2 and to remove the colloidal template, which resulted in an inverse opal or air-sphere crystal. The inverse opal titania arranged on a face-centered cubic (fcc) lattice were close-packed and interconnected for electronic conduction. This nanoporous texture of the TiO2 electrode is expected to significantly increase the adsorption of surface-anchored charge-transfer sensitizers and the cross-section of light harvesting due to the large suface area. |
