제목 Synthesis and characterization of sulfonated polyimides for proton exchange membrane fuel cell
초록 Fuel cell technology is expected to become one of the key technologies of the 21st century because the fuel utilization in fuel cell engines is markedly higher than in combustion engines. The proton conducting membrane is the very important component of a fuel cell system, which determine system performance. Sulfonted polyimides are good candidates for preparing proton exchange membranes for fuel cells because only highly stable membranes can withstand the harsh chemical and physical environment in a fuel cell. So, we synthesized sulfonated polyimides with 2,3'bis(3,4-dicarboxyphenyl)hexafluoropropane dianhydride , 4,4'-diamino-biphenyl 2,2'-disulphonic acid and 4,4'-oxydianiline by one-spot imidization. The chemical structures of the sulfonated polyimides were investigated with FT-IR, NMR, and elemental analysis. Thermal stability, mechanical strength, and morphological structure of sulfonated polyimide membranes were analyzed by DSC/TGA, UTM and XRD, respectively. Additionally, the electrochemical properties for different composition sulfonated polyimide membrane were investigated using ion exchange capacity, water uptake, conductivity, and electrochemical performance.
