제목 Controlling Cellular Interactions on Patterned Bio-inert Polyelectrolyte Multilayers
초록 Layer-by-Layer deposition(LbL) is a versatile technique whereby ultrathin films are assembled from the repetitive, sequential adsorption of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes from dilute aqueous solution. We have studied cellular interactions on various polyelectrolyte multilayer films. Multilayer films comprised of weak polyelectrolytes exhibit different surface properties as they were assembled at different pH conditions. In this paper, we present cellular adhesion controlled by the polymer coatings. Polyelectrolytes including biodegradable polymers such as poly(aspartic acid)(PASA) were investigated for their surface-cell interaction using epithelial cells and immune cells. Some cases show a great resistance toward cellular adhesion without cytotoxicity supported by MTT assay. In addition, using a RGD peptide introduced by a simple reaction using the functional groups in the polyelectrolyte films enable to create cell patterns, which is important to develop cell-based sensors.
