TPA materials with a large cross-section value (σ) can be utilized for various applications such as for two-photon-pumped upconverted lasing, optical power limiting, three-dimensional optical data storage, photodynamic therapy and 3-D lithographic microfabrication. The structural requirements to achieve an enhanced TPA-active molecules includes the planarity of chromophore and π-donor strength at the end of molecules. The ethynylenephenylene derivatives can be a promising candidate for TPA applications due to its effective π-conjugation and planarity. Recently, we have synthesized four different ethynylenephenylene derivatives having alkoxy group which are attached carbazole or triphenylamine at the end of molecules. The wavelength dispersion of TPA activities of these compounds were investigated by the fs open aperture Z-scan method. Also we studied the detailed optical properties including optical power limiting activities and 3-D lithographic microfabrications. |
