Perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB) aryl ether polymers for versatile applications to polymer photonic devices |
초록 |
Various PFCB monomers were synthesized in high purity in a few steps. Homopolymers and copolymers were successfully prepared from them by 2Π+2Π cyclopolymerization. Through the insertion of various functional groups via suzuki coupling, lithium-halogen exchange reactions, or other methods between trifluorovinyl aryl ether (TFVE) linkages, PFCB polymers could lead to an increased processability, durability, chemical resistance, high thermal stability and very interesting optical properties. Thus we designed new PFCB aryl ether polymers having various functional groups such as benzene, naphthalene and perfluorocyclopentene for POFs and trifunctional materials for waveguides. Also new azo polymers having PFCB groups were synthesized for optical storage and nanopatterning. In this presentation, the versatility and potentials for various PFCB polymers will be discussed with a main focus on optical properties of PFCB polymers for polymer photoic devices. |
