제목 | Effect of the Addition of TiO2 Nanoparticles for Solvent-Free Polymer Electrolytes Based on Porous P(VdF-HFP)/P(EO-EC) Membranes |
초록 | In a previous study1, the solvent-free polymer electrolytes based on porous poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) [P(VdF-HFP)]/poly(ethylene oxide-co-ethylene carbonate) [P(EO-EC)] membranes filled with viscous P(EO-EC)/LiCF3SO3 mixture were prepared. Although higher ionic conductivity (ca. 3.7ⅹ10-5 S cm-1) and better electrochemical stability ( > 5 V) than conventional solvent-free polymer electrolytes2,3 were obtained in the previous study, there still remained some drawbacks such as low ionic conductivity for practical applications and deterioration of mechanical properties by increasing P(EO-EC) content in membranes. In this study, in order to enhance the ionic conductivity and mechanical properties of the system, TiO2 nanoparticles were added into both porous membranes and electrolytes. In the case of porous membranes, interaction between polymers and TiO2 was confirmed by FT-IR. The reduction of crystallinity according to the addition of TiO2 in membranes was evident from DSC and XRD results. In addition, the mechanical properties of membranes were measured by UTM. From these results, porous membranes with 10 and 20 wt% of TiO2 was chosen as the optimum matrices in this system. Then, in order to evaluate the effect of TiO2 on electrochemical properties of electrolytes, porous membranes were filled with viscous P(EO-EC)/LiCF3SO3 mixture having various TiO2 content, thereby producing solvent-free polymer electrolytes.
