In this report, two different ways to improve efficiency of polymer photovoltaic devices (PVDs) will be presented. In first way, we fabricated p-n bulk hetero-junction PVDs based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) and [6,6]-phenyl-C60-butyric acid methyl ester in order to find the influence of solvents on device performances. The PVDs show different I-V characteristics with various solvent conditions. Secondly, we report the method which can make a clearly defined and well-controlled interlayer structure between PEDOT:PSS and an active layer in the PVDs. The devices with the interlayer exhibit a higher efficiency than those in devices without the interlayer. |
