제목 The Fouling Mechanism of Humic Acid in RO and NF Membranes
초록 Using FTIR spectroscopy, TOF-SIMS, SEM, and contact angle measurements, we analysized roll type RO and NF membranes which were fouled by humic acid. The differences of unfouled RO and NF membranes were the contents of aromatic composition and surface roughness.
In the fouled membrane, it was confirmed that the humic acid having more aromatic and OH ingredients resided in the influx side and the humic acid having more aliphatic and less OH ingredients resided in outflux side. In the humic acid diffusion on the surface of RO and NF membranes, a cause of different stagnant cake formation was found to be the different hydrogen bonding force between membrane and water.
