Synthesis and characterization of donor polymer containing fused thiophene for photovoltaic applications |

Organic solar cells(OSC) have attracted attention as a renewable energy source due to their low cost, ease of manufacture, and compatibility with flexible substrates. To improve efficiency of OSC, donor polymer which has adequate energy level related to acceptor material should be developed. Donor polymer which has deep HOMO level enhances VOC that is important factor of determining the efficiency of OSC. Based on this motivation, we synthesized a donor polymer containing dithieno[3,2-b;2’,3’-d]thiophene(DTT) unit which shows low HOMO level. The characterization, electrochemical properties and optical properties of polymer are discussed. |
