Here, silica-templated porous carbons were prepared by using polythiophene as carbon precursor and MCM-41 as silica template. The chemical activation using KOH was carried out in order to generate the microporosity of carbon materials. Structures and morphologies of the samples were obtained by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission transmission electron microscopy (FE-TEM). N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms were determined at 77 K to investigate porous textural characterization. Hydrogen uptakes were measured at 77 K and 1 bar. From the results, the micropore volume of chemically activated template carbons increased more than MCM-41 and polythiophene. Furthermore, hydrogen uptakes were enhanced after KOH activation. |
