Bulk-heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs) have been thought of as promising next-generation green energy technology because of their attractive advantages in fabricating low-cost, large-area, flexible devices and light weight. To realize high performance OSCs, the donor–acceptor(D–A) framework of wide-bandgap(WBG) donor is an effective strategy. WBG polymers mostly have deep HOMO levels that can enhance the open-circuit voltage, and show well matching absorption with NFAs, which can increase the short-circuit current density. (E)-1,2,-di-(thiophene)2-yl)ethane (called thienylenevinylene) (TV)) has been recognized as a promising electron-donating unit because the incorporation of a vinylene bridge in the backbone enhances the planarity of the molecule backbone and thus affords strong π-π interaction, leading to increased crystallinity of the molecule. These results demonstrate that TV-based small donors are promising materials to reach the high performance non-fullerene OSCs. |
