Rheological properties of carbon nanotube/polymer composite thin films |
초록 |
Dewetting and diffusion dynamics of thin polymer/multiwalled nanotube (CNT) composite films has been studied. When spreading parameter of a bilayer system is negative, the liquid polymer film dewets on another polymer film due to its thermodynamic instability. Therefore we could study the CNT effect on the dewetting process when polystyrene thin films were put on the CNT mixed poly (methyl metacrylate) (PMMA) thin films by monitoring the hole growing formation. The dewetting process was significantly delayed as increasing the concentration of CNT. Furthermore, neutron reflectivity and dynamic secondary ion mass spectrometry were also used to determine the effect of CNT on tracer diffusion coefficient of PMMA bilayers. The results show that there is no dramatical effect on the interlayer diffusion, while the mobility of polymer chains under shear deformation is suppressed. |
