제목 Neutron Reflectivity Studies on the Structural Changes of Poly(PentaFluorophenyl Acrylate) Films after Post-Treatment with Primary Amines
초록 Stimuli-responsive polymer thin films have recently received immense attention for many potential applications. Poly(pentafluorophenyl acrylate) (poly(PFPA)) is known to have high reactivity with amine functional groups that offer easy approach to realize diverse functions starting from the same films by simple post-modification with amines. We prepared spin-coated films of poly(PFPA), synthesized by the RAFT polymerization. They show sufficient scattering length density contrast without additional deuteration of the polymers. We observed the difference in the fitted model layers between as-prepared and amine-treated films to monitor the degree of modification of PFP groups with amine groups for poly(PFPA) of different MWs. For further studies, we investigate the structural changes of reactive PFPA brushes prepared by the surface-initiated RAFT polymerization. We expect that poly(PFPA) brushes would be quite useful as platforms for functional polymeric films in diverse research areas.
