Amphiphilic rod-coil block copolymers (PLA-b-PF-b-PLA) of poly(9,9’-didodecylfluorene) (PF) and poly(D,L-lactide) (PLA) were synthesized by ring opening polymerization method. The oligofluorene with hydroxyl ends was prepared by the Yamamoto-type coupling of 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didodecyl-fluorene using a Ni(COD) catalyst as reductive transition metal-base coupling agent. The molecular structures of PLA-b-PF-b-PLA were characterized by 1H-NMR, GPC, DSC, IR and DSC techniques. The solubility of the coil-like PLA blocks influenced the UV-absorption and photoluminescence of PLA-b-PF-b-PLA in selective solvents. The physical and optical properties of PLA-b-PF-b-PLA were changed by the chain length of the PLA coil-like blocks. |
