In this work, glucose was detected by a SERS probe. 4-mercaptophenyl boronic acid (4-MPBA) was self-assembled on the surface of silver nanoparticle-embedded silica-coated graphene oxide (GO@SiO2@Ag@MPBA). This SERS probe have 2.2-fold higher SERS intensity than that of GO@Ag NPs. And it has advantage of lower background signals than GO. When the concentration of 4-MPBA was 1mM, the SERS signal of GO@SiO2@Ag@MPBA was highest. The SERS intensity of this SERS probe was dependent to pH and was highest at pH 3. This SERS probe was used to detect glucose. The SERS signals at 1,072 and 1,588 cm-1 were increased when glucose is captured with GO@SiO2@Ag@MPBA. Glucose can be detected from 2 to 20 mM. These results show that glucose detection is possible with SERS based technique using graphene oxide. |
