제목 Phase transitions of weakly interacting Block copolymer studied Wide angle X-ray scattering and Infrared spectroscopy
초록 Recently, we reported that the phase transitions of polystyrene-block-poly(n-pentyl methacrylate) (PS-PnPMA) were also measured by temperature-dependent infrared spectroscopy with two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy. In a disordered state below the lower disordered-to-ordered transition, the intensity of the conformational band at 1255 cm-1 was greater than that at 1274 cm-1, whereas the reverse was found in another disordered state above the upper ordered-to-disordered transition. However, it is not resolved to have the origins of directional interaction at both disordered states. In this study, we studied directional interactions existing in PS-PnPMA by using hetero correlation of temperature-dependent infrared spectroscopy and wide angle X-ray scattering. The results clearly shows that the conformation of the C-C-O group in the PnPMA chain (and thus the directional enthalpic gain) is different in the two disordered states.
