Characterization of superabsorbent polymer based on carboxylic acid monomers according to initiator types and polymerization temperature. |
초록 |
The superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) consisting of carboxylic acid monomers were prepared by aqueous solution polymerization using initator and crossinking agent of persulfate-type and tetra-ethylene glycol diacrylate, respectively. Carboxylic acid monomers were neutralized with sodium hydroxide. We investigated the water absorptionin in 0.9 wt.% of NaCl solution of SAPs which have been synthesized by various conditions such as polymerization temperature and types of initiator (ammonium persulfate, potassium persulfate, etc.), whereas other conditions such as the polymerization time, stirring speed, degree of neutralization, initiator content, and crosslinking agent content were fixed. The yield of product, the content of gel fraction, and water absorption under pressure were also estimated. As a result, we found the existence of an optimal synthesizing conditions for SAPs. |
