제목 Preparation and characterization of new superabsorbent polymers as a function of crosslinking agent
초록 Many studies on developing application of bio-based material have been conducted since the interest of renewable material increased. A new superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) were prepared by polymerization of bio-based carboxylic acid vinyl monomer in water using persulfate initiator with crosslinking agent. The molecular structure of the SAPs was characterized by FT-IR. We estimate the water retention capacity by centrifuge retention capacity (CRC) method and the content of gel fraction of SAPs. We found that as the amount of crosslinking agent increased, the gel fraction increased, whereas the water retention capacity decreased. Under certain amounts of crosslinking agent, with increasing sol fraction, water retention capacity remarkably decreased.
