Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) has attracted much attention for its wide potential applications. A supramolecular assembly based on chiral luminescent organic molecules is one of the most promising candidates for materials exhibiting CPL because of the large enhancement induced by well-ordered π-π stacked supramolecular formations. However, most of the supramolecular assemblies exhibiting CPL suffer from aggregation-induced fluorescence quenching effect, leading to poor fluorescence efficiency and spectral instability. In these contexts, we designed cyanostilbene-based supramolecular systems showing brightly emissive CPL. Cyanostilbene derivatives are well-known compounds with aggregation-induced enhanced emission. In fact, upon self-assembly processes, newly synthesized cyanostilbene derivatives inducing supramolecular chirality obtained could demonstrate highly enhanced CPL. We expect that this material paves the way towards various CPL-related applications. |
