Preparation of Liposome Carriers with Various Pressure using SPG Membrane |

Liposomes are usually used various particles sizes with various applications. In this study, we prepared various size liposomes using shirasu porous glass (SPG) emulsification. Liposomes were prepared by the thin film cast-hydration method and were permeated through SPG membrane with decreasing membrane pore sizes of 10, 5, 2, 1, 0.7, 0.5 and 0.2 ㎛. The inner structures and sizes of liposomes were confirmed by optical microscopy, cryo-TEM and DLS. The time it took liposomes to pass through the SPG membrane was measured at varying pressure, and liposome size was measured with SPG membrane pass number to confirm correlation of SPG membrane and lipid layer. |
