Organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) are promising candidates for flexible, large-area, and low-cost devices such as flexible displays, smart cards, and a variety of sensors. In this study, we have fabricated OTFTs onto a photoaligned PVCN (poly(vinyl cinnamate)) gate insulator to facilitate a highly oriented microstructure of poly(2,5-bis (3-dodecylthiophene-2-yl) thieno [3,2-b] thiophene) (PBTTT) as an active layer. The charge mobility of OTFTs with a photoalingend PVCN gate insulating layer was investigated by the photoaligning time, direction, and annealing temperature of PBTTT. The optical anisotropy and surface morphology of photoaligned PVCNs, exposed to a linearly polarized ultraviolet light, were studied using UV-Vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscope. Also, the anisotropic orientations along the vertical and horizontal directions of PBTTT onto the photoaligned PVCN could be confirmed by FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopy according to the annealing time. |
