Risk Assessment of Hazardous Chemicals - Presistent Organic Pollutants |

Risk assessment is a formal way to calculate risk so that informed decisions can be made to reduce the risk.Risk assessment needs to be focused to identify the exposure pathway including major source and media.In the case of Dioxin and Dioxin like compounds, fish consumption is the major source of exposure.So screening values and/or fish consumption advisory needs to be derived to reduce the exposure level by fish consumption.Some examples of fish monitoring data in Korea were analyzed to assess non-carcinogen and carcinogenic risks. |
