Synthesis of benzotriazole–based small molecule for solution processed organic solar cells |

Recently, benzotriazole (BTz) derivatives have been synthesized and studied in various fields as polymer solar cells, organic field-effect transistors and water treatment due to its chemical versatility. In our work, the donor-acceptor (D-A) type benzotriazole (BTz) based small molecule was designed, synthesized and applied as electron-acceptor material for the application of organic solar cells. The influence of three chemically functionalizable N-sites on the optical, electrochemical properties, and morphology were systematically investigated. The device performance demonstrates that BTz might be a promising electron donating core for constructing organic solar cells. |
