Membrane techonology has attracted great attention to contribute toward mitigating CO2 for the following reasons: low cost, scalability and high energy efficiency. Membrane performance is determined in two terms, permeability and selectivity; which remarks how fast and how selectively gas molecules transport through the membrane. Moreover, there exists trade-off relationship between permeability and selectivity, so called ‘upper bound.’ To overcome this limitation, material property should be analyzed thoroughly. Transient permeation and kinetic sorption method are commonly used. In specific, barometric sorption method takes very long time to prepare samples and measure them. In this study, we introduced Quartz Crystal Microbalance for facile measurement of gas sorption and diffusion, which is more simple and powerful method for observing gas sorption and diffusion behaviors. And we compare the result obtained by QCM to conventional sorption method for proving it works precisely. |
