Thermoplastic road markings forms the fragment after converting paint of powder state to melting state. Because the thermoplastic road markings forms the hard fragment in 5 minutes, it can be applied rapidly to traffic open needed. Conventional thermoplastic road markings is made by mixing LDPE wax and plasticizer on C5 aliphatic hydrocarbon resin. Because this paint is hard and brittle, it has excellent compressive strength and load endurance, but its own tensile strength is low. If the crack is on the paint, it causes desquamation on the its surface by flowing moisture in it, and because it has fast hardening speed, it could occur secession phenomenon on glass beads. In addition, LDPE added on the lane paint to expose the glass bead degrades the adhensive power of glass bead, so it could cause the secession. Therefore, in this study, mixing ratio of the resin and the wax, resin and filler, and melt viscosity of the paint by changing the content of glass bead were evaluated. |
