제목 Controlled drug release from oppositely charged anisotropic nanoparticles with stimuli-responsiveness
초록 Bi-compartmental nanostructures with distinct opposite charges and stimuli-responsiveness could be of interest for drug delivery system because different drug release kinetics from each compartment could be achieved in response to both charge and stimuli. In this study, stimuli-responsive anisotropic nanoparticles (ANPs) with positively and negatively charged compartments were synthesized via electrohydrodynamic co-jetting and characterized. Two distinct compartments of the ANPs were composed of oppositely charged N-isopropylacrylamide copolymers with thermal-responsiveness and they exhibited temperature-triggered swollen and collapsed behavior under physiological environment. Oppositely charged drugs were loaded into each compartment and released with different kinetics depending on electrostatic interaction and stimuli. Potentially, this work is useful for decoupled drug release kinetics based on their anisotropic characteristics.
