Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have been widely studied in biomedical applications because of their simple synthesis, good biocompatibility, and optical properties. Due to these advantages, there are many attempts to utilize AuNPs as a multifunctional nanoparticle for therapy and imaging. In this study, we developed multifunctional dendritic AuNPs targeted for siRNA delivery and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) imaging. Au@MC were synthesized a facile method by addition of HAuCl4 to hydrophobic reducing agent loaded micelle (MC). Au@MC would be suitable for siRNA complexation and electromagnetic field enhancement for SERS due to their sharp and spiky structure derived from cationic polymer. The resulting gene silencing efficiency and SERS intensity of Au@MC were changed depending on their structure and showed the desirable effect for using as siRNA delivery carrier and SERS substrates. These results suggest that Au@MC would be potential candidate for imaging and gene delivery. |
