This study was investigated to test the combustion properties of wood specimen for the constructional interiors, especially focusing on fire performance index which is heat hazard properties. Heat release properties were measured by using a cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1). The external heat flux was maintained at 50 kW/m2. The concentration of Talc was changed to obtain a blending ratio of proper concentration. According to the concentration, total heat release decreased by 11% for talc 20 and 7% for talc 30, and increased by 5% for talc 10. The maximum average rate of heat emission was reduced by 7-18% for all specimens. The fire performance index increased 3.4 ~ 5.9 times compared to uncoated specimens, respectively. The risk properties of fire caused by the change of concentration increased in order of talc 30<talc 20 <talc 10<cypress. Mixing talc with silicone sol improved the fire hazard. |
