Split-second Reduction of Graphene Oxide via Pulsed Light Irradiation and its Application into Organic Electronic Devices |

Graphene oxide (GO) is received special attention as a promising precursor for the bulk production of graphene-based materials. Water-dispersible graphene oxide makes it possible to fabricate various electronic devices by using a simple printing process. To obtain conductive graphene electrodes from a GO, deoxygenation / reduction of GO is essential. Chemical reducing agent such hydrazine or high temperature treatment in inert reducing atmosphere have been commonly used for reduction of GO. Here, we introduce a rapid reduction method for GO using a pulsed light irradiation within several seconds in ambient condition. Instant exposure of pulsed light to GO led to the deoxygenation reaction of GO, which was confirmed by XPS, FT-IR, XRD etc. The electrical and optical properties of the reduced GO by pulsed light were investigated. The proposed technique combining a direct printing of GO patterns successfully provides the reduced GO electrodes for organic electronic devices. |
