제목 Preparation of Silica Templates as Adsorbent Precursors
초록 Silica gels with narrow size distribution were prepared by a modified SFB process. The prepared silica gels were mono-dispersed and spherical, and its diameter was controlled to be form 50 to 300nm by changing the ratio of H2O to EtOH and concentration of NH3, a catalyst. The specific surface area of the prepared silica gels was so small (~16m2/g). In the silica gels, there was no pore except a small amount of surface micropores of which average diameter was around 16A. This means that the silica gels were so dense and were grown by Ostwald ripening process which was groverned by dissolution and re-precipitation mechanisms. All the prepared silica gels showed the sam Si-NMR spectrum in which main Q2 and Q3 peaks and minor Q1 peak appeared. This means that the reaction to form anhydrous silica has not gone to completion. The prepared silica gels were tried to be closely packed by simple evaporation or centrifuging process. The close packed specimen was composed of primary close packed domains such as grain in polycrystal. In the present study, it will be suggested that particle size distribution is one of the most important factors in the close packing process of silica gels.
