The problem of elimination of surfactant in a radioactive waste liquid generated in a nuclear power plant, has been attracted. Methods for decomposition and removal of environmental pollutants using photocatalytic photo-oxidation methods have been studied in recent years. The photocatalysts such as TiO2, ZnO, CdS absorb light and generate superoxide anions and hydroxyl radicals, which have strong oxidizing power. These substances oxidize and decompose organic materials. In general, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) have a wide specific surface area and adsorb various substances. We introduced TiO2 into MSN to adsorb anionic surfactant and finally treated with APTES ((3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane). The anion surfactant was adsorbed to the AFMT (amino-functional MSNs_TiO2) by the electrostatic force between the cation charge of AFMT and the anion surfactant, at the same time the adsorbed anionic surfactant was decomposed through oxidation reaction of TiO2. |
