There are many applications for bone regeneration using polymer/ceramic composite scaffolds with similar to the natural bone composition and extracellular matrix. In this study, blends of poly(L-lactic-co-glycolic acid ;PLGA, 75:25), gelatin (blending ratio; 0, 25, 50, 70, and 100 wt%; gelatin to PLGA) and hydroxyapatite (HAp) were electrospun to prepare non-woven nanofibers for the enhancement of cell adhesion, proliferation and osteogenic activities. The resulting nanofibers demonstrated the uniformed fibers with ranged 150 to 600 nm mean diameters. The properties of PLGA/gelatin/HAp nanofibers were confirmed by the SEM, TEM, TGA, ATR-FT-IR, and contact angle. The quantities of HAp on surface of nanofibers were greatly pronounced with increasing amount of gelatin in the blend, and HAp particles were more dispersed in proportion to gelatin amount. |
