Evaluation of Bioaccumulation of Silver Nanoparticles |

Environmental exposure of nanomaterials can be increased with development of nanotechnology, suggesting possibility of considerable impact of nanomaterials on ecosystem. Therefore, the environmental fate and transport of nanomaterials should be investigated to reduce their negative effect. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the bioaccumulation of citrate coated silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), which is selected as reference AgNP material of OECD. Microorganisms were collected from activated sludge and exposed to AgNP solution. The bioaccumulation of AgNPs was determined by ICP measurement, and TEM analysis was conducted to examine AgNPs uptaken by the microorganisms. |
