제목 Targeted Combination Cancer Therapy of Heat and Drug using Multifunctional Nanoparticles
초록 We developed anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 antibodies conjugated doxorubicin-loaded poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-Au half-shell nanoparticles that could carry heat and drug specifically to tumors via active targeting, and we investigated the therapeutic efficacy of this multifunctional NP to HER2 overexpressed from a breast cancer cell line in a mouse model. In vivo NIR images revealed that the NPs were more effectively delivered to the tumor via active targeting with HER conjugated NPs than via passive targeting with NPs. Upon NIR irradiation a higher intratumoral temperature was measured for the mouse treated with HER conjugated NPs, indicating that more heat, drug, and herceptin could be delivered to the tumor tissue by active targeting. The chemo-photothermal treatment combined with targeted delivery resulted in complete tumor destruction without recurrence.
