제목 Photosensitizer Loaded Hyaluronic acid Nanoparticles for Cancer Targeted Imaging and Therapy
초록 Hyaluronic acid (HA) nanoparticles showed their efficient passive and active targeting ability to tumor site via enhanced permeation and retention effect and specific binding to the receptors (CD44, HAER). Moreover, they showed prolonged circulation in the blood stream and enabled successful delivery of poorly water-soluble anticancer drugs and photosensitizers using their hydrophobic cores. The photosensitizer (PS), used in photodynamic therapy (PDT), transfers energy to molecular oxygen, leading to generation of singlet oxygen or other reactive oxygen species. Herein, we developed PS-loaded HA nanoparticles for improving the efficacy of PDT. The results showed that PS-loaded HA nanoparticles were specifically taken up by the tumor cells and they produced the fluorescent signal and singlet oxygen. Moreover, they showed high tumor accumulation and therapeutic efficacy.
