Electrochemical characteristics of polypyrrole coated Al2O3 fibers electrode |

Polypyrrole (PPy) coated aluminium oxide (Al2O3) fiber electrode was prepared by chemical polymerization for supercapacitor applications. The porous structure of Al2O3 fibers is useful for a supercapacitor containing high surface area electrode, which improves the performance of capacitor. The optimal conditions for preparation of PPy-Al2O3 fibers electrode were examined as function of pyrrole-concentration, kind of oxidant, and polymerization time. The morphology and formation of PPy-Al2O3 fibers electrode were confirmed by FT-IR, EDAX, and SEM. The capacitance of the fiber electrode was investigated by cyclic voltametry and galvanostatic charge /discharge test. |
