Light-induced degradation of ROS-sensitive mPEG-b-PPADT micelles for anticancer drug delivery |

ROS-sensitive poly-(1,4-phenyleneacetone dimethylene thioketal) (PPADT) nanoparticles were reported for the oral delivery of therapeutic siRNA to inflammation sites in the intestine. Here, ROS-sensitive polymeric micelles (RPMs) were fabricated using an amphiphilic block copolymer of PPADT and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with co-encapsulation of paclitaxel and photosensitizers. The light-generated singlet oxygen from the photosensitizers induce the degradation of the RPMs and the burst release of paclitaxel.
