제목 Preparation and Characterization of Layer Double Hydroxides-Polymer/Ag Composites for Antibacterial Application
초록 A facile route of composite of silver conjugated layer double hydroxides (LDHs/Ag) was prepared and the effective antibacterial was illustrated. Initially, the layered double hydroxides (LDHs) surface was modified by S′-(3-trimethoxysilyl) propyl trithiocarbonate. Subsequently, poly(2-hydroxyl ethyl methacrylate) (PHEMA) was functionalized on the surface of layer double hydroxides by the reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The hydroxyl end groups of the grafted PHEMA brushes were converted into carboxyl groups and silver ions were conjugate to afford LDHs/Ag in the presence of sodium borohydride. The composites were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, TGA, GPC and SEM analyses. In-vitro assay with Staphylococcus aureus bacteria showed high antibacterial activity of the LDHs/Ag composites. The combination of LDHs and excellent antibacterial property of silver nanoparticles promises a potential application in the biomaterial field.
