Influence of Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment on CMS for biogas separation |

The Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) was modified by the hydrogen peroxide treatment for investigating the separation behavior of biogas (CO2/CH4). The surface treatment of CMS by H2O2 was carried out with various concentration of H2O2 at room temperature. The introduced functional group affected pore size distribution and pore volume of the surface of the samples. The CO2 adsorption capacity on the modified samples was observed to be different from the raw sample due to changed pore structure and functional group. The CO2 uptake on modified samples was increased at 298 K. Therefore, the introduction of functional groups on CMSs proved to be very effective in CO2/CH4 separation. |
